Matching Spring Outfits for Moms and Daughters

Thursday, March 24, 2016

Sunday marked the official first day of spring and that means it's time to pull out the fun prints, bright colors, and flowy silhouettes. One of my favorite things about spring fashion growing up was wearing matching outfits with my mom and sister for Easter. Today I've got a guest post by Emma Lawson about just that - matching spring outfits for moms and daughters!

Mothers and daughters have the most special bond from the first moment they meet. This is probably the reason every daughter looks up to her mother and wants to become just like her when she grows up. Why wait for that long, though? Ok, maybe in the age of six, your daughter will not take your career footsteps, but she can wear clothes that match yours. Spring is the perfect time for adorable matchy outfits, whether you are going to a wedding, some other special event, or you are simply heading to walk in the park. Here is how to wear this cute style this spring, without going overboard.

How I Cleared My Acne with 4 Products!

Thursday, March 17, 2016

As a teenager I struggled with terrible acne. Nothing I used cleared it for more than a week or two - not Proactiv, not Clearasil, not Neutrogena, NOTHING! Enter this past year where I'm absolutely fed up with the breakouts and hyper-pigmentation. I've always thought I had oily, resilient skin, but I actually have oily and SENSITIVE skin. That meant all the chemical-ridden cleansers, brushes, and creams I had been using over time were actually too harsh for my skin. It took a while and a lot of experimenting, but I eventually came up with a skin care routine that has cleared my acne and greatly reduced the appearance of my dark marks! I've recently started wearing makeup for the first time in over 10 years and this skin-clearing routine has made foundation almost unnecessary. I could honestly go about my day with a little concealer or tinted moisturizer around my eyes. Keep reading to see how I cleared my acne with only 4 all-natural products!

Wishlist Wednesday: St. Patty's Day Picks

Wednesday, March 16, 2016

One of my favorite things about St. Patrick's Day isn't the parties or parades; it's the opportunity to wear the color green. There are so many shades that it's hard to pick when March 17th comes around.  From olive to emerald to sea foam, there's no shade of green that I don't like. I even love annoying neon, highlighter green! Lucky for you I've compiled a list of my favorite green items that can be worn any time of year.

I spend a lot of time at work listening to music. It just seems to make the day go by faster when you're listening to your favorite song (and sneaking in a little dance party). Here's a list of my current favorites that make the work day a little more bearable whether you're sitting in your cubicle or stuck in traffic on the way home. You can bet I'll be jamming all day to this playlist!

Dior So Real sunglasses, Dior So Real dupes, Dior So Real dupe, Dior So Real look a likes, sunglasses similar to Dior So Real | A shopping comparison post featuring Dior "Dior So Real" sunglasses and GoJane "Style Blogger Vintage" sunglasses.

Let's be honest: what fashion blogger hasn't been eyeing the Dior So Real sunglasses? They've been worn by Jill-of-all-trades Olivia Palermo and blogger Chiara Ferrigni They're futuristic, minimalist, sleek, and downright cool. The only uncool thing about them is the price! After scouring Google for a while I found very similar pairs from several different sites. There are so many great Dior So Real sunglasses dupes out there, but the pair I liked best (AKA had the best price) was from GoJane. The Style Blogger Vintage Sunglasses are an exact dupe for the Dior So Real sunglasses! The price difference was unbelievable and I couldn't believe how similar they looked. I'm so excited to share this Save vs Splurge with you guys today so keep reading to see which pair I'm picking up for this season!

Truly Versatile Style

Thursday, March 10, 2016

Today's outfit post is all about versatility. Versatile items make it so much easier to get dressed in the morning or for a night out. My favorite versatile items are all black and I don't know about you guys, but I'm more into black now that I am during the winter. It just goes with EVERYTHING and it's so easy to get dressed in the morning when everything you own is black. Of course, an all black outfit is made even better when army green, gold, and nude are added; It's one of my favorite color combinations for any time of year. This utility vest also goes with everything as well and I've worn it several times since I've gotten it.  One of my favorite ways is to layer it over a striped shirt which I did here and also over on Instagram. I don't know what it is about this vest and stripes, but they go perfectly together! I would love to layer it over a white lace or striped t-shirt dress for spring.

Currently March

Monday, March 7, 2016

March is finally upon us! The groundhog didn't see his shadow last month so that means spring weather should be here any day now. Seriously, I'll take those temps over 50 now thanks. It snowed again this past week so I'm not sure when that will happen, but I can't wait. A new month also means a new Currently link-up with Jenna from Gold & Bloom and Anne from Anne in Residence so keep reading to see what I'm wishing, craving, going, wearing, and learning for the month of March.

March Blogging Goals + February Recap

Saturday, March 5, 2016

February was an interesting month to say the least. I went back to work, told my family and friends about my blog (!), and opened up my home to family. I didn't focus on blogging as much as I should have and that's something I've been working on for the past week. I keep beating myself up because I know I should have done better this month and I've thrown out any progress I've made so far. I still got a long way to go before I'm back on track and I think setting goals is the best way to do it. Keep reading for my progress on my February goals and ONE goal I want to accomplish for March.

Wintermixing into Spring

Thursday, March 3, 2016

March is finally upon us! I really feel like the months of January and February really flew past. I'm actually super glad that we're trucking right along into spring. I feel like I'm always commenting on the weather so I won't say anything about it (I promise!) and just say that spring is one of my favorite seasons (after fall). I love shedding all those winter layers and trying out new trends. It's not fully spring yet so I'm still reaching for my chunky knit sweaters and boots. I love layering my sweaters with flannels and chambray shirts so this Madewell Wintermix cable knit sweater was a win-win for me. I love the transition from sweater to flannel shirt and the layering effect without the bulk.  I've already worn it twice and I received so many compliments on it! The cream and black color combination is a wardrobe staple for me because it can go with soooo many other colors. Keep reading to see what else I wore with this amazing find!
