How I Updated My Nighttime Skincare Routine for Cooler Weather

*I received Valentia products for review purposes. I received E.L.F. products for testing purposes. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*
My skin is far from perfect, but it has certainly come a long way since I started taking better care of it. I still use all of the products listed in my How I Cleared My Acne with 4 Products post. When the seasons change it's always a good idea to update your skincare regimen. Cooler months call for more moisture and warmer months call for more SPF and lightweight products. I'm sharing my updated nighttime winter skincare routine that deeply cleanses, fights wrinkles, lightens hyperpigmentation, and keeps skin moisturized even on the coldest fall or winter days.

Once a week I like to use a deep cleansing mask. My current favorite is the ELF Hydrating Bubble Mask. It's a hydrating gel that turns into a bubbling mask after a few minutes. It removes excess dirt  and cleanses pores for glowing, healthy skin. I love to use this mask after taking off my make-up and I'm always so surprised by how this product removes all the extra gunk from my skin.

After I rinse off the mask and while my lips are still damp, I exfoliate my lips to get rid of any dead, flaky skin. For this I like to use the ELF Lip Exfoliator. It gently exfoliates lips to help remove dry, chapped skin. It's infused with Vitamin E, Shea Butter, and oils to help nourish and protect lips.

I follow up my lip exfoliation with a generous amount of Vaseline Cocoa Butter Lip Therapy. This thick lip balm is my favorite for this time of year because it protects my lips from the cold, harsh air and heals dry lips.

After I've finished my mask and exfoliating my lips it's time for a preventative treatment to fight wrinkles and boost collagen; two visible signs of healthy skin! My favorite nighttime treatment is the Valentia Night Revive Retinol Serum. Retinol increases collagen and reduces the appearance of wrinkles. It also has Vitamin C which helps with the absorption of retinol and provides a boost of moisture.

It is important to follow up any retinol treatment with a moisturizer since retinol can cause dryness. My top pick is the Valentia Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer.  I love to use this moisturizer during the day and night to help lighten hyperpigmentation marks and provide all-day moisture. It's not too thick or thin so I also use it during the summer months. On the days where I need more moisture I use Palmer's Cocoa Butter (in the jar). It also lightens dark marks and keeps my skin moisturized throughout the night.

After I'm all done with my routine and even the next morning my skin is glowy and super soft. I love all of these products individually, but they work even better together. I can't wait to see how my skin continues to flourish during the colder months. You can check out Valentia Beauty on Facebook and Instagram!
