To mimic everybody's thoughts from the last week: how crazy is this weather?! It was a balmy 70 degrees every day last week and Christmas almost didn't feel like Christmas with this heat. Despite the weather  I was able to spend some well needed quality time with my family in beautiful Williamsburg. If you ever get the chance to visit Williamsburg, Virginia, I highly suggest you do; I always have so much fun whenever I go!

It's so hard to believe that 2015 is almost over! This year really sped by, but I'm excited for 2016. 2015 gave me Truly Yours, A. and 2016 will make it even better. I'm proud of myself for even making it this far. I've tried blogging in the past and didn't last very long. This year I gave it my undivided attention and it's become something I can't imagine not doing. As the year winds down I thought I'd share my favorite (or most popular) posts. A HUGE thank you to everybody who read, commented or shared something they found on TYA. Keep reading to see which posts made the cut!

Rocksbox Set #4

Saturday, December 26, 2015

Hi again! Sorry for the lack of updates; I haven't been feeling very inspired lately. I think it's just holiday stress which means I could use a vacation ASAP. Until then I'll continue to enjoy the little box of happiness that is Rocksbox. My last box was AMAZING and I'm still loving all those pieces. This box isn't that stellar, but it's still great. 16 for 2016

Wednesday, December 23, 2015

Today is totally a holiday in my book so Happy Christmas Eve Eve! I hope you're enjoying the holiday spirit because I know I am. I can't stop listening to Christmas music and eating all the festive cookies I can find! I knew I wanted to set up goals for next year, but I didn't want to make a cliche New Year's resolution list. I decided to link up with Acorns & Lemonade and come up with 16 things I wanted to accomplish for myself in 2016. There aren't too many monetary or blog goals because most of those are on my "big picture" goal list. These "projects" will actually help me see the value in trying something new and sticking with it. Who knows? Maybe next year I'll have 17 new goals to accomplish in 2017! Want to see my list and maybe come up with your own? Keep reading!

Today is the first official day of winter which means it's time to pull out all the essentials! Time to pull out the heavy jackets, sweaters, scarves, and socks hiding in the back of your closet. This time of year means staying warm no matter the sacrifice and who says staying fashionable has to be one of those sacrifices? My list is sure to keep you warm and in style! Keep reading to see what's on my list and if you didn't catch my Autumn Essentials, then you can check those out here

Favorite Holiday Scents

Tuesday, December 15, 2015

The past two months have really fueled my love for candles and perfumes. I love making my house smell like I just baked a pumpkin pie or a fresh pine tree and candles have become the best way to do that. I used to buy air freshener, but I felt like the scents only last a couple of minutes before fading. Going to the store is dangerous for me now because I can't resist stopping and smelling all the candles they have available. I also love how candles can be great decor pieces in my home; I love using them as centerpieces and placeholders on my coffee table and bedside tables.

I love all the festive scents in stores now and I thought I'd share my favorites with you. Hopefully you find a new favorite like I did!

Save vs Splurge - Topshop Pointy Toe Flats

Saturday, December 12, 2015

Pointy toe flats are all over Instagram right now! Every fashion blogger has a pair so naturally you want a pair, but you don't want to break the bank. Look no further, my friend. This post has two great options for under $100, so you can get the great Aquazzura look without the $600 price tag! Both pairs are from Topshop and feature the sleek look that everyone is going crazy over. Keep reading to see which pair of flats I'm adding to my closet! Hopefully you'll also find a pair you can't live without.

Fun with Flannel

Friday, December 11, 2015

An fall/winter outfit inspiration post featuring a plaid flannel shirt, J. Crew Factory vest, and boots.

Who doesn't love a good, comfy flannel this time of year? I know I do! These babies are so versatile - you can wear them under a vest, sweater, or dress for additional warmth or tied around your waist as an edgy, yet functional accessory. My tip for buying flannels: check out the men's section! The buffalo check flannel I wore in my Edgy Friendsgiving look came from the men's department of H&M. They ran out of my size and I was lucky enough to spot it as I was browsing. It was even cheaper than the women's version! Keep reading to see where I found this awesome flannel shirt!

Tuesday Tunes: Holiday Edition!

Tuesday, December 8, 2015

I can't believe it's December and Christmas is only 3 weeks away! I'm beyond excited for this time of year because of all the amazing activities I can do to spend time with family. I'm most excited for buying a real tree (for the first time!) and decorating it. Here's a list of my favorite songs to listen to while I'm decking the halls!

December Bucket List

Monday, December 7, 2015

If you're looking for a month that has tons of activities then December is it! There's always a million and one things I want to do, but I never seem to get around to it. This year I'm determined to complete my (tiny) December bucket list. Keep reading to see what's on it!

December has officially been around for a week and we're only 18 days away from Christmas! This year I'm feeling extremely festive and want to complete as many things as possible from my December Bucket List. #1 is a work in progress. I'm writing this post in advance, so tree shopping should be down on Friday the 4th. I'm most excited about #2 because it means reuniting with my brother and sister for the first time in years. I can't wait to see them! Ice skating is so much fun and I've been once in the summer (the best time to go). I would love to go skating at the rink they have in Downtown Richmond. I can NOT bake so #4 will be a challenge. Maybe I'll start with premixed cookies and go from there? I've already done #5 and posted about it on this blog. You can check out my tutorial on how to make your own ornament wreath HERE. Completing #6 shouldn't be too hard if I shop online. Going to a store this time of year is definitely not on my bucket list. I don't have any invites for Christmas parties just yet (Even though I have my outfit all planned!). If I don't get one I'll settle for drinking eggnog at home while watching a good Christmas movie! As mentioned in my Currently December post, I suck at wrapping presents. I still might attempt to wrap one or two things, but only if I find the right paper!

What's on your December/Christmas bucket list? Let me know in the comments below!

On the Hunt

Thursday, December 3, 2015

An outfit inspiration post featuring a J. Crew Factory herringbone vest, J. Crew shirt, and tall navy Hunter boots.

Navy and grey has to be one of my most favorite color combinations ever. The colors go with almost anything, why not combine them? I wore a similar color scheme in my 50 Shades of Grey outfit post, which also featured this J. Crew Factory herringbone vest! My top is an oldie, but goodie from my Fall is Coming post

I wore this outfit for a walk to the library and exploring Randolph-Macon's gorgeous campus with my boyfriend. Can you believe I've lived in this town for a year and hadn't explored the grounds?! I've made a promise to myself to get out and explore the city more in the New Year. We walked along fraternity row and admired the houses we thought only existed in movies and TV shows. I can't wait to explore more of the campus in the upcoming months. The school has an amazing Southern feel about it. It's such a small, intimate campus nothing like my old school. The only thing they have in common is the colors!

My Hunter boots are a Christmas gift to myself that I couldn't resist opening early! I got such a good deal on them during Revolve's Black Friday sale (They ended up being $105!). The weather is calling for rain this week so they came just in time. They're surprisingly comfortable too! Combined with my knee-high socks, they kept my feet nice and warm. I chose to get the matte version of these boots because they seemed like they wouldn't get scratched as easily. Don't get me wrong, I would still love a pair of red gloss Hunters to add a pop of color to any outfit. Thanks for reading and enjoy your Thursday!

DIY Wednesday: Christmas Ornament Wreath

Wednesday, December 2, 2015

A Pinterest-inspired DIY for making a Christmas ornament wreath.

I've seen ornament wreaths all over Pinterest for a couple of years now, but it wasn't until this year that I decided that I HAD to make one for myself. I searched through so many tutorials looking for just the right one. I finally stumbled across one that mentioned buying ornaments from the Dollar Tree because they were super cheap (Which is my favorite way to DIY!). I ended up making this wreath for under $30! Keep reading to see how you can make one of these for yourself!
