Navy and grey has to be one of my most favorite color combinations ever. The colors go with almost anything, why not combine them? I wore a similar color scheme in my 50 Shades of Grey outfit post, which also featured this J. Crew Factory herringbone vest! My top is an oldie, but goodie from my Fall is Coming post.
I wore this outfit for a walk to the library and exploring Randolph-Macon's gorgeous campus with my boyfriend. Can you believe I've lived in this town for a year and hadn't explored the grounds?! I've made a promise to myself to get out and explore the city more in the New Year. We walked along fraternity row and admired the houses we thought only existed in movies and TV shows. I can't wait to explore more of the campus in the upcoming months. The school has an amazing Southern feel about it. It's such a small, intimate campus nothing like my old school. The only thing they have in common is the colors!
My Hunter boots are a Christmas gift to myself that I couldn't resist opening early! I got such a good deal on them during Revolve's Black Friday sale (They ended up being $105!). The weather is calling for rain this week so they came just in time. They're surprisingly comfortable too! Combined with my knee-high socks, they kept my feet nice and warm. I chose to get the matte version of these boots because they seemed like they wouldn't get scratched as easily. Don't get me wrong, I would still love a pair of red gloss Hunters to add a pop of color to any outfit. Thanks for reading and enjoy your Thursday!

Fall is officially the time of the vest! Puffer, fur, military, you name it and people have been pulling them out and layering them for the cooler temps. Here's a little vest inspo to help you guys (and myself) out this fall!
The infamous herringbone vest. - This vest is a classic and it wouldn't be fall without it! This classic herringbone vest goes with almost anything, but my favorite way to layer it is over a flannel or sweater. Throw on a statement necklace and you're out the door! The most popular version of this vest is from J. Crew Factory. This year they have it in Steely Gray and the more popular Black!
Add a pop of color! - Take a boring fall outfit and make it fun with a colorful puffer vest. Dress up an all black outfit with a vest in a vibrant shade of pink. There's so many colors to choose from. J. Crew Factory has two amazing shades called Dark Poppy and Neon Coral that are a must-have!
Warm up with fur. - Whether you're a fan of faux fur or the real thing, these vests are a great way to take any outfit from drab to rock star. They're also super warm and cozy! The Topshop Lea vest is the season's hottest version of this vest, but I also love this ombre faux fur version by Steve Madden. I've also lumped shearling vests into this category since they feature a version of fur on the inside. I love this faux shearling vest from Nordstrom!
Borrowed from the guys. - Military-inspired or utility vests are a great way to add a little masculinity to any fall ensemble. They come in all shades of olive green and who doesn't love all those pockets? A good one can be hard to find depending on how you want it to look. This military-style utility vest is currently on sale for under $60!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed looking at all the amazing photos of vest outfits on Pinterest! There's so many other vest options I didn't mention including blazer vests, waterfall sweater vests, fleece vests, the list goes on and on. Fall is definitely vest season! I have so many new ideas for ways to wear my vests this season and beyond. What's your favorite vest? Let me know in the comments below!

Today is officially the first day of Autumn! I couldn't wait to pull out the vest and riding boots especially since I got them both for a steal during the summer. The biggest deal of this outfit was the statement necklace - I found it at Wal-Mart for only $3! Fall is favorite time of the year and not just for the leaves changing or cooler weather. My job winds down and I have more time to spend with my loved ones. What's your favorite part about fall? Leave your answers in the comments below!

4. Deborah Lippman "Harem Silk" // 5. Uniqlo flannel shirt // 6. J. Crew Factory quilted puffer vest
7. Lucky Brand riding boots // 8. J Brand skinny jeans // 9. Sam Edelman leopard flats // 10 . Sperry Saltwater duck boots
- A cute beanie - I love the bow on this one from Kate Spade. These can be lifesavers on the days when you don't want to bother with your hair! You can buy these from anywhere, but I love to get mine from Forever 21 and Target.
- A crystal statement necklace - These look so polished when layered over denim or flannel shirts. They add instant shine to any outfit.
- A dark red lipstick - An outfit is never complete without lipstick, right? I love fall because deep reds, maroons, and burgundys are in season. This shade from MAC adds a pop of color to any outfit. I also love the matte lip pencils from NARS.
- A dark nail polish - In the summer white and bright shades of coral and pink reign supreme. Darker nail polishes in shades of emerald, marsala and navy feel more appropriate in the colder months. I love this one from Deborah Lippman, but Essie also has more affordable options.
- A flannel shirt - These are an essential for the obvious reason of warmth, but they're so versatile! They can be layered under puffer vests, sweaters, sweatshirts, tied around your waist, the list goes on and on! You can find these for a steal at Target or Forever 21, but if you want to invest I suggest checking out Madewell.
- Puffer vests - These are also on the list for obvious reasons, but they can be worn with soooo many things! I can't wait to layer mine over chambray shirts and sweaters. I personally think J. Crew has the best vests, but Old Navy offers them at a more affordable price point.
- Riding boots - Another Fall staple is the riding boot. They keep your feet and legs nice and cozy when it gets chilly out. Frye and Tory Burch offer plenty of options if you're looking for a long-term investment. More affordable options can be found at Target or JustFab!
- Wine-colored skinnies - A solid pair of denim skinnies should already be in your closet, but ruby shades of this staple stand out more in the Fall. Any jewel tone jean is great for the season, but Marsala is the color of the year. Why not embrace it? A good pair can come from American Eagle or Joe's Jeans.
- Leopard flats - These can be worn with almost everything on the list! They look so good paired with a dark pair of denim skinnies and a sweater. These are a dressier option when boots won't cut it.
- Duck boots - These are a heavy duty option for colder, rainy days. I love the way they look with a flannel, puffer vest, thick wool socks and denim skinnies! I love this option from Sperry (they come in tons of other colors, too!) and they can be found at LL Bean, too.
What are your fall staples? Leave them in the comments below!

There was a chill in the air this morning that made me smile deep inside. Fall is my FAVORITE season and I'm so happy it's almost here. I can't wait to wear cute boots, sweaters and jackets! These cargo pants are a staple transitional piece in my wardrobe. I love to pair the olive green with navy and burgundy. Today I wore them with a super comfy J. Crew striped top and my well-worn Converse. I think this look screams 'I'm ready for fall!" What do you think?
