For as long as I can remember, my mother instilled in me that white was NOT to be work after Labor Day. I never questioned her, but I often wondered why I couldn't wear my favorite white Mary Janes after the summer. Fast forward to 2017 and I am still hesitant to keep this color in my wardrobe once we reach the end of August. However, I made a promise to myself to step outside te box more often when it comes to my style which is why I'm sharing this all white ensemble with you all today!

Even though it's rained for 3 weeks straight here in RVA, I'm really looking forward to the warmer weather that's headed our way. I love my Hunter boots and duck boots, but I think it's time to retire them and slip into something a little more comfortable. Sandals and flats are one of my favorite parts of spring and summer fashion - there's always so many to choose from! This season I am definitely looking to invest in a few more pairs. I'm really digging the athletic slides, laser cut wedges, espadrilles, tassel and pom pom embellished footwear and simple closet staple sandals. If you had to choose one neutral color to wear for the rest of your life, what would it be? Mine would be navy blue with black being a veryclose second. It might (or not) come as a shock that one of my favorite colors for any season is this particular shade of dark blue. This versatile yet simple shade has slowly taken over my closet the past few months, but I'm not complaining one bit. I love that I can pair this color with so many other shades for spring - Rose Quartz, Serenity, white, red, coral, gold, nude, neon pink - the possibilities are endless! One of my most favorite navy color combinations is with cognac and gold. The colors compliment each other so well and just has a preppy feel to it. I'll definitely be wearing (and posting) lots of navy blue looks this season. Keep reading to see my extremely casual take on one of my favorite colors!

If I could pick one shoe to wear everyday for the rest of my life, it would be a pair of sneakers. They're super comfortable and, with the "athleisure" trend that's going on now, appropriate for more than just going to the gym! My trusty Roshe Run One's have been my go-to shoes lately, but now I'm looking for a new pair to fill the void in my sneaker heart. From slip-on skate shoes to workout essentials, these are the shoes that I need to jump into my closet...like right now!

I recently bought a new (to me) camera - a Nikon D3000. I am super excited about having a DSLR again. I love my Nikon J1, but it feels too much like a point and shoot at times. Anyways, this is what I wore on my first outing with my new camera. Even though it's September (and rainy on this day) and the temps are still in the high 80s/low 90s I couldn't resist adding a fall staple to my outfit. This flannel is one of my most worn pieces when the temperature drops and the leaves start changing. I paired it with a pair of destroyed denim shorts and my trusty Converse. Of course the outfit wouldn't be complete without pearl earrings and necklace! If you would like to see some of my old photography, check out my Flickr! I plan on using it more so check back often!

There was a chill in the air this morning that made me smile deep inside. Fall is my FAVORITE season and I'm so happy it's almost here. I can't wait to wear cute boots, sweaters and jackets! These cargo pants are a staple transitional piece in my wardrobe. I love to pair the olive green with navy and burgundy. Today I wore them with a super comfy J. Crew striped top and my well-worn Converse. I think this look screams 'I'm ready for fall!" What do you think?
