The 90's and early 2000's brought us amazing music, TV shows, and fashion...what a time to be alive...Lately, I've been on a major 90's kick (my newest Spotify playlist additions are proof of this) so this outfit was a major nod to my childhood. I was only a couple of years old when the 90's rolled around, but that hasn't stopped me from reliving the good old days through my clothes. I've been so inspired by all aspects of 90's post-grunge and R&B fashion so think dark purple lipstick, destroyed denim, flannels, chokers, and lots and lots of black. If I thought I could rock combat boots and a babydoll dress I totally would! On top of showing you guys my take on 90's fashion, I'm sharing my favorite 90's songs from all genres that I've been playing on repeat!

Fall is in full swing and we've finally pulled all the sweaters and boots to the fronts of our closets. Wearing the same shades of cream, olive, and navy can get a bit boring. Luckily, the Pantone Color Institute graced us with their top color picks for Fall 2016 fashion. "The desire for tranquility, strength, and optimism have inspired a Fall 2016 color palette that is led by the Blue family. Along with anchoring earth tones, exuberant pops of vibrant colors also appear throughout the collections. Transcending gender, these unexpectedly vivacious colors in our Fall 2016 palette act as playful but structured departures from your more typical fall shades.
Blue skies represent constancy as they are always above us. Grays give a feeling of stability, Red tones invite confidence and warmth, while the hot Pinkish Purples and Spicy Mustard Yellows suggest a touch of the exotic." I don't know about you, but that quote from Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, inspired me to try to incorporate more color into my fall wardrobe. Today on the blog I'm sharing all 10 fall colors of the year and how you can incorporate them into your existing wardrobe!

I love pattern mixing because it's a great way to get more wear out of the items in your wardrobe. Fall is such an amazing time to practice pattern mixing with all the layers we wear. I've been asked a couple times "How do you know what patterns go together?" or "How can I incorporate more patterns into my wardrobe?" There is no definitive answer and most times I stumble over my words trying to find the right thing to say. I took a while to gather my thoughts on pattern mixing and I'm sharing my top tips with you today. Continue reading to see how I mix patterns like a pro!

I was fortunate enough to have a LulaRoe mother/daughter team, Shannon and Meg, send me a couple of pieces to style for you guys. I have to admit I thought LulaRoe only made leggings, but they have so many amazing pieces for all types of women. I've already worn this beautiful 'Carly' dress twice and I'm itching to buy a couple to style in different ways. The Carly is described as "a cute dress that lets us breathe and move easier - a swing dress that flatters the best parts of a feminine physique while being flowy and breezy everywhere else. The Carly comes in a wide array of fabrics, prints, and washes and has some amazing features such as a patch pocket, a flattering high-low hemline, and cool open sleeves." Y'all this dress is simply amazing! It's so soft and comfortable and can easily be layered for chilly fall weather or worn solo on warmer days. Today on the blog I'm sharing how I styled this dress for fall and giving you guys a few tips on how to make this dress work for any fall day!

I think we've all had those days where we just feel...blue. We're not really sad, but we know that we don't feel happy. I had a lot of days like this last week due to my depression and most of the time I spend the day curled up in my bed with my Netflix queue. Dealing with depression is not easy and some days are better than others. I've learned that taking care of yourself mentally is such an important part of self care and improving your mental state. I've recently discovered a few ways to combat my "blue days" and make them so much better. Today I'm sharing my personal methods for better days and a cute blue look guaranteed to make any day better!

Losing weight is not an easy task. It takes dedication and some serious discipline. It’s been a couple months since I announced that I was on my weight loss journey with the help of alli® weight loss aid. It hasn’t been easy, but I know it’s for the best. Luckily, I’ve had the support of my boyfriend who is also joining me on my path to health! We’ve made an effort to eat more home-cooked meals and eliminate fast food from our diets, and we’ve also started working out at least 2 times a week. Without him I’d be doing this alone and probably would have failed within the first week. Staying motivated on your weight loss journey can be hard, but I’ve got 10 tips to make it a bit easier to stay on track!

Imagine going through life never being told you're beautiful because you're handicapped, or looking beautiful on the outside but suffering from a chronic debilitating condition on the inside. In today’s society, chronic illness is common. However, the issues facing these people are rarely discussed. While illness is hard on everyone, the perception of women and beauty while being ill is convoluted. If you illness is invisible, you do not receive help for your issues or your illness may be trivialized and if it is obvious people don’t know how to respond.
Lyme Warrior is creating a calendar to feature women who are battling serious chronic illnesses and how their amazing personality and drive keep them moving forward when the cards are stacked against them. We are featuring illnesses from Stroke to Lyme Disease to Huntington's. Women who may look "normal" and beautiful but are fighting serious, some even life threatening diseases. At Lyme warrior, we are ecstatic to present these beautiful women with tremendous spirit and drive, who continue to fight chronic disabling conditions on a daily basis with dignity and grace. These women are Chronic Beauty. Today on the blog I'm sharing a piece by Lauren Lovejoy of Lyme Warrior.

I am loving rose gold for fall! It pairs so well with almost any color worn around this time of year. You can also mix and match it with classic gold and silver to get more wear out of your pieces. Rose gold is truly the perfect metal for this time of year: it's not as warm as yellow gold or as cool as silver so it even matches the weather! I only own a couple pieces of rose gold jewelry, but I can't wait to invest in more as the season goes on. I'm also adding rose gold touches to my home decor. Regular yellow gold plays a huge part in the color scheme of my apartment, but I'm slowly transitioning to rose gold for fall! Today I'm sharing my favorite rose gold finds to wear and in home decor!

When I saw this plum floral dress in the window at H&M I knew I had to have it! I loved the print and color so much that I looked online for more pieces that featured it and was met with H&M's fall women's campaign all about reclaiming the word #Ladylike and redefining it. Strong, independent, free-willed, entertaining, opinionated, off-beat, and fearless. Do these words come to mind when you think about the term 'ladylike?' If the answer is yes then you get a cookie! JK, but seriously I think being a combination of these things is pretty close to being #Ladylike.
