Fun with Flannel

Who doesn't love a good, comfy flannel this time of year? I know I do! These babies are so versatile - you can wear them under a vest, sweater, or dress for additional warmth or tied around your waist as an edgy, yet functional accessory. My tip for buying flannels: check out the men's section! The buffalo check flannel I wore in my Edgy Friendsgiving look came from the men's department of H&M. They ran out of my size and I was lucky enough to spot it as I was browsing. It was even cheaper than the women's version! Keep reading to see where I found this awesome flannel shirt!

As I was taking these photos, there was a family of squirrels running around my backyard. I think I seriously spent 15 minutes just watching them leap from tree to tree and chase each other! I love the little glimpses of nature I can see from my patio. It's so much different from my last apartment in the middle of the city. The only nature I could see from there was the sky!

This amazing flannel is from the men's section at...Wal-Mart! I know, I couldn't believe it either! Honestly, it's the softest, thickest flannel shirt I've found this fall. It was also the cheapest - it only cost me $7.88 to bring this baby home! I love all the colors in the plaid; I can layer sooooo many things over this this winter. I've already worn it under an American Eagle jegging sweater and it was such a warm combination! I can't wait to layer it under a sweater dress or striped sweater for winter.
