5 Things I Do Every Day to Boost Baby's Brain Development

It's no secret that new parents want to give their baby the best start in life. An easy way to boost baby's brain development is through stimulating baby's brain with activities we already do everyday! Here are five easy ways I (and you!) can boost baby's brain development.

1. Breastfeeding

McKenna is still breastfeeding and it's always been a great time for us to bond by talking or singing. Breast milk is also full of nutrients that give baby's brain a boost from the start.

2. Playtime

Stacking cups are a great toy for helping grow baby's fine motor skills. Another way I can boost McKenna's brain development during playtime is with face-to-face interactions.

3. Story Time

Reading to my little one is a great way to boost her brain development. Even if we don't read the story word for word, making up our own story or just looking at the pictures can help stimulate her mind. In addition to at-home story time, we also go to our local library once a week for a brain-boosting story session with other little ones.

4. Going Grocery Shopping

Going grocery shopping is great way to expose McKenna to different smells, textures, sounds, and sights. Counting and calling out colors are fun activities that can be done to keep shopping trips entertaining for mommy and baby. One of our favorites places to shop is our local Publix for all of our favorite Gerber products, including Gerber Rice Cereal. You can save on any Gerber Cereal at Publix by downloading a coupon for purchase here!

5. Mealtime

Around 4 to 6 months babies start to lose their iron stores from birth and need a new source. Babies also need iron to support healthy brain development. Just two servings of Gerber infant cereal meet 100% of my baby's daily iron needs. Incorporating Gerber Single-Grain Rice Cereal into McKenna's diet was a no-brainer!
