I think we've all had those days where we just feel...blue. We're not really sad, but we know that we don't feel happy. I had a lot of days like this last week due to my depression and most of the time I spend the day curled up in my bed with my Netflix queue. Dealing with depression is not easy and some days are better than others. I've learned that taking care of yourself mentally is such an important part of self care and improving your mental state. I've recently discovered a few ways to combat my "blue days" and make them so much better. Today I'm sharing my personal methods for better days and a cute blue look guaranteed to make any day better!

Get out of the house

This is one of my favorite ways to make myself feel better. Whether I go for a quick stroll around the block or to Target to buy all the cute things leaving the house gives me a chance to get some fresh air and clear my head.

Exercise!

I know this isn't everybody's cup of tea, but exercising releases endorphins and endorphins make you happy. A little sweat sesh is truly the best way to improve your mood and overall health. As I mentioned in Monday's post my boyfriend and I have been working out a couple times a week to improve our overall lifestyle and it has definitely been working. After my workout I'm tired, but happier overall.

Unleash your creative side

Another tried and true method that I use to feel better is being creative. For me that could mean writing a blog post, a DIY that I've been meaning to attempt, or even brainstorming outfits to shoot for the blog! Having a creative outlet can help release any built up tension or anxiety.

Talk it out

This isn't my all-time favorite method, but it does help. Talking about your feelings with a close friend or family member helps with alleviating some of the emotional weight. You have these people in your life for a reason so take advantage and open up about how you're feeling.
