Fall Bucket List - 2015 Virginia State Fair Visit

Thursday, October 22, 2015

A couple weeks back Lloyd and I decided to take a trip to the State Fair before it left town. It was a good thing we went when we did because Hurricane Joaquin forced it to close the next day! The Fair is always on my fall bucket list and I'm so glad we were able to go this year. Here's a few snaps from our trip.

The animals are usually one of our favorite parts and they did not disappoint this year. We love to see the little ducklings on their slide and my personal favorite will always be the pigs.

The prize winning fruits and vegetables always amaze me. I admire the time and dedication these people put into growing something from scratch. This year there was even a pumpkin from someone from our hometown!

The food is our #1 reason for going and I was sporting a pretty big food baby after all the delicious treats we had. The fried Oreos and smoked ribs changed my life! We even sampled some delicious frozen wine and instantly purchased one for home. Sorry, no pics of that; I was too busy drinking!

We never go at night so it was so cool seeing all the rides and games all lit up. This arcade game always takes up so much of our time and money. We get this close to winning and can't stop until we do!

We had such a great time and even though we've been a couple times before it felt like a totally new experience. We bought things we've never seen before and tried new foods. I can't wait to go again next year. Tell me all about your favorite part of your state's fair in the comments below!
