I can't say I'm 100% thrilled with this Fix. I did leave my stylist a note asking for certain pieces, but received none of the items on my list. She did try to send similar items, but I still wasn't impressed. I think the reason I am disappointed in this box is because I didn't feel like anything in this box was selected with my personal style in mind. The "stylists" like to claim they get inspiration from my Pinterest boards, but I feel like the pieces are just thrown in a box depending on your size and what's available. I usually sneak a peek at what I'm receiving in my Stitch Fix boxes by checking the Checkout page. After reading some of the descriptions and looking some of the pieces up on Pinterest I could tell that I was not going to like anything in this box. When my box finally arrived my feelings were affirmed and I almost didn't want to review this box for you guys. However, I wanted to give you my honest opinion on this subscription box service. Keep reading to see why this is my fourth and final Stitch Fix review.
Gilli Kamile Faux Suede Knit Dress - $64
Guys, my stylist sent me a (faux) suede dress...in August...in Virginia. I can't fathom why she thought this was a good pick for me. 1. I never asked for a dress, 2. I never asked for a SUEDE dress, 3. this pattern is hideous! It looks like one of my grandmother's old couches and I don't mean that in a nice way. This dress honestly reminds me of a LulaRoe dress and I think that's why I dislike it so much. Verdict: GOING BACK.
BC Footwear Charmed Slide Heels - $85
I am not a fan of slides or mules especially in heel form. I asked for a pair of lace-up flats and got these instead. These also seem very impractical to me unless I worked in an office which I don't. I think I would have liked them a lot more if they were just flat sandals. I liked the material and the detailing, but that was about it. Verdict: GOING BACK.
Skies are Blue Charlene Plaid Cotton Button-Up - $54
This was almost a decent piece until I tried it on and noticed the ridiculous v-neck. It's a button-up shirt! The only v-neck it should have is when I undo the top three buttons and open it up slightly!! I" sorry for yelling, I just don't understand details like this. You wouldn't add a v-neck to a men's button-up so why add it to a woman's? Verdict: GOING BACK.
Brixon Ivy Fierro Elbow Patch Crew Neck Sweater - $58
This was almost the piece that saved this box. It's lightweight which means it perfect for layering and the elbow patch detail is on of my favorites for fall and winter. The only thing that bothered me about this sweater was that it is still AUGUST IN VIRGINIA! The weather here is so unpredictable when it comes to summer/fall/winter (it was in the 80s last year around Christmas) so I don't need anymore sweaters taking up space in my closet. Verdict: GOING BACK.
Liverpool Adele Skinny Jeans - $88
Before my stylist sent my box, I asked for a pair of maroon/cranberry or white skinny jeans. Instead of those colors, I received this plum pair of "skinny" jeans. I say "skinny" because they look more like straight leg jeans to me. I wasn't a huge fan of the fit or length and I'm sure they're great jeans, just not for me. Verdict: GOING BACK.
My style is constantly changing and I feel like a subscription box clothing service is definitely not for me. When I first started getting them I was unsure about what kind of pieces I wanted or what my style was. Now I know what I'm looking for when I walk into a store and if I don't find it then it's on to the next. I truly loved my first Stitch Fix so much that I wanted to keep all of the pieces! My second and third boxes were hit and miss with the second Fix full of misses and the third Fix had a couple of hits. I don't want to sugarcoat things for you guys and say I'll wait and see if the next box makes up for this one when I have no intention of doing so. I am a Stitch Fix Influencer, which means I might get a small commission anytime someone uses my link to sign up for Stitch Fix, but I also pay full price for my subscription. My reviews are 100% honest because I spend my hard-earned money on this service and before you guys do the same I want you to have all the necessary information. I am super picky about the clothes I put on my body; if I don't like it then I don't wear it and it's as simple as that. Have you tried Stitch Fix and received a "bad" Fix? Did you keep the service or cancel your membership? Let me know in the comments below!
