Fall is a great time to experiment with different trends and pieces you might not usually gravitate towards and buying new clothes can be an amazing feeling. Sometimes you want to add a few inexpensive, trendy pieces to your closet since you know you'll probably move on to a new trend in a couple months. The shopper's remorse you feel after a big purchase can often kill the high you get from retail therapy. I am a firm believer that great pieces can be found without maxing out your credit card. Of course, quality over quantity often applies to pieces that are more timeless and you'll wear season after season, but affordable fashion should never be a bad thing! Sweater Weather
Sweaters with lots of personlity are everywhere this year; cold shoulder, lace-up, zippers, tassels, and bell sleeve details are making an appearance in stores right now. Wearing sweaters day after day can get so boring so why not make sure you have a couple with a little something extra? I'm a huge fan of the cold shoulder trend from summer so a cold shoulder sweater that helps bring that into fall is just up my alley. Chokers are huge so a sweater with choker detail makes it so much easier to get dresses and go!
Bootie Season
To go along with those sweaters you're also going to need update your footwear. I'm obsessed with OTK (over the knee) boots in seasonally appropriate colors like burgundy, gray, and taupe. I love seeing these paired with a chunky sweater and leather skirt or jeans for those extra chilly days. A versatile pair of black over the knee boots pull double duty as they can be dressed up or down!
Velvet Seduction
Velvet is making a sultry appearance this fall and winter in dark, moody shades of navy, maroon, and dusty cedar (you can find out all about this fall 2016 Color of the Year in my Fall Colors post!). Add a couple pieces to your wardrobe this fall and thank me later.
