Card Garland
I love receiving cards (giving them out is a totally different story, but I digress). I keep every single one, no matter the holiday, and store them in a little keepsake box. I did the same for all of the cards I received from during and after McKenna's birth. I glued each one to a piece of gold string and hung them up like garland on one of the walls in her room. It's a wonderful reminder to me (and eventually McKenna) that she is loved beyond measure. When we move I'll take all of these cards and add them to her baby book, so she'll always have them.
Gallery Wall
Gallery walls are perfect for decorating baby's nursery on a budget. McKenna's is small, but it cost less than $10 to make because I used decor we already had around the house! The gold metal starburst (here's a similar piece!) was part of our living room decor, but it never really fit in. The white picture frame is from the Target Dollar Spot and cost $3. I painted it white and printed out this palm picture since I was leaning towards a tropical theme. The pink letter M was part of McKenna's first birthday decorations. I found a large wooden letter similar to this one and spray painted it this color. Overall, the wall isn't completely finished, but it leaves room to add more as McKenna gets older and it can easily be put back together in a different arrangement when we move.
Name Banner
This name banner DIY was one I always planned to include in our nursery decor. The door to McKenna's bedroom is really bland, so this was the perfect way to give it a little character. I used 6 inch wooden letters, painted them to match the color scheme (Candy Pink and Key West), and hot glued them to some leftover gold ribbon I had lying around. I used a wreath hanger to hang it up so it could easily be moved.
