Happy March, y'all, and welcome back to another Stitch Fix try on session! This month I asked my Stitch Fix stylist for a few basics that I would incorporate into a spring capsule wardrobe I'm in the middle of developing. She totally listened and sent over a few pieces that would be the perfect wardrobe staples, but they didn't exactly work for me. Keep reading to find out why!
Vigoss Elaine Distressed Girlfriend Jean - Size 12, $68
The distressing, color, and cut of these jeans were winners in my book. I was not a fan of the fit around the tummy area and I felt they made my "mom pouch" a little more noticeable. VERDICT: Return
Cosmic Blue Love Heather Chambray Top - Size XL, $68
A chambray shirt can be the base for so many outfits for spring, so I was thrilled to find out one was headed my way. I was not a fan of the gaping across the chest and the way the sleeves looked rolled up. VERDICT: Return
Alice Blue Simona Henley Blouse - Size XL, $38
I've received a top like this from Stitch Fix before and it was a disaster fit-wise. They're always too tight across the chest, back, and shoulders, which is a shame because they look so good right out of the box. The print on this top screams spring, but it's a no from me dawg. VERDICT: Return
Lemon Tart Kessi Button Down Cami Blouse - Size XXL, $58
This was the one item from this box that I actually considered keeping even though the fit is a little questionable. I loved the style, but there was so much extra fabric in the armpit area. I am still on the hunt for a similar top for spring! VERDICT: Return
Toms Deconstructed Alpargata Espadrille Flat - Size 8, $64.95
I love Toms; they are the ultimate spring shoe in my book! I really wanted to love these because the color is the perfect neutral, but they were sooooooo difficult to get on! They definitely run at least half a size smaller than regular Toms so they're going back. VERDICT: Return
Even though I didn't keep anything from March's Stitch Fix, it wasn't a complete loss. It made me realize that finding wardrobe staples takes a little work, but in the end it's so worth it. If you would like $25 towards you very first Stitch Fix click here!
