Toddlers: they're loud, they're pushy, they're messy, but we love them because they can also be funny, caring, and filled with love. Despite the difficulties of toddlerhood, it is amazing to see them become little people. They're tiny people with real preferences and very real feelings and they pick up information incredibly fast. There are days where I feel like I can see McKenna's brain at work and it's incredible to witness. As a SAHM it's so easy to go throughout my day without stopping to enjoy it and McKenna seems to be the exact opposite so I aspire to be more like her. Today I'm sharing the other 3 reasons why I want to be more like my toddler in 2020!
1. They live in the moment.
To McKenna it truly doesn't matter what happened before or what's happening in the future; she (mainly) focuses on what's happening in the moment. It's so easy to go through the motions of our day and not really enjoy it. I aspire to be like her and not worry too much about what I did or what I need to do and just focus on the here and now.
2. They aren't scared of expressing how they feel.
Toddlers go through such a wide range of emotions on a daily basis. McKenna isn't ashamed to let me know how she feels at any given moment. I've been told that I'm very apathetic, so in 2020 I want to make it loud and clear how I'm feeling.
3. They take time to appreciate the world around them.
I truly envy how they seem to be in tune with the world around them. McKenna constantly picks out things about the world that I tend to overlook. Toddlers feel like the world should make sense in an uncomplicated way and I completely agree. Don't you? In 2020 I want to take a step back and be more conscious of the world around me.
