Truly Versatile Style

Thursday, March 10, 2016

Today's outfit post is all about versatility. Versatile items make it so much easier to get dressed in the morning or for a night out. My favorite versatile items are all black and I don't know about you guys, but I'm more into black now that I am during the winter. It just goes with EVERYTHING and it's so easy to get dressed in the morning when everything you own is black. Of course, an all black outfit is made even better when army green, gold, and nude are added; It's one of my favorite color combinations for any time of year. This utility vest also goes with everything as well and I've worn it several times since I've gotten it.  One of my favorite ways is to layer it over a striped shirt which I did here and also over on Instagram. I don't know what it is about this vest and stripes, but they go perfectly together! I would love to layer it over a white lace or striped t-shirt dress for spring.

I've always been a fan of Betsey Johnson and her out of the ordinary style and these shoes are no exception. These nude studded pumps are my new favorite shoes for spring. The studded straps remind me of the Valentino Rockstud flats, but at a fraction of the cost and I love that they go with everything in my closet! They're super comfortable and I can wear them with skinny jeans like I did here or even skirts for something a little dressier. I'll let you guys in on a little secret: I found these Betseyville beauties at Target! They're definitely the best deal I've found all year because they look much more expensive than they actually are. They're no longer available in the nude color, but they are available in black and leopard and black, both of which would be super chic for those spring outfits I'm planning in my head.

My black and white striped tunic is a fashion blogger "staple" from BP. It's currently sold out, but here's a similar version by the same brand. It's another versatile piece that I'm sure I'll be wearing all season long. It adds the perfect pop of pattern for this simple, black look. Mixing and matching versatile pieces in my closet, like my vest, tunic, and flats, will keep me looking stylish all spring long. I'm already dreaming of the ways I can style these items in the future. What are your favorite versatile pieces for spring? Let me know in the comments below!
