How has it been a whole month (plus a couple days) since McKenna wasn't born?! I feel like the time flew by, but I also feel like it went by slowly. It definitely feels like it's way too soon for me to have a 1 month old. I know it's cliche, but she really has grown so much in this short amount of time. She never ceases to amaze me and I love watching her grow and adapt to being out in the world. I honestly could go on and on about her all day, but I'm going to share a quick 1 month update instead. I thought this would be a great way to document McKenna's growth while I'm on the hunt for the perfect baby book (does anybody have any recommendations?).
Health updates: When McKenna was born she weighed 5 pounds 7 ounces and was 19 inches long. The day we brought her home from the hospital she had dropped down to exactly 5 pounds. At her 2 week checkup she was up to 6 pounds 4 ounces! I know for sure she's put on even more weight since then and I can't wait for her next doctor's appointment to know how much she's grown. Her length hasn't been measured since birth so I don't know how long she currently is.
Postpartum update: My recovery has been pretty smooth so far. Thankfully, I didn't have any aches or pains after delivery. My ankles were swollen for about 2 weeks, but other than that I didn't even feel like I just had a baby. My 6 week check up is next week so hopefully all is well there, too.
My little girl is growing up so fast! Every time I look at her precious face I smile because I can't believe I'm a mom. I'm so grateful for her because she has taught me so much in such a short amount of time. I haven't gone back to work yet, but I'm anxious to see how we all adjust when I do. I can already tell I'm going to have separation anxiety from being away from her all day!
