Canal Walk Comfort

Monday, January 25, 2016

One of my goals for 2016 was to explore one new place in Richmond a month. This month's location is the Canal Walk in the downtown area. It's super close to Belle Isle, which I love, so I couldn't believe I hadn't poked around this area before. It was nice to just take my time walking and reading all of the interesting signs all over the place. I would love to revisit the area when it's a little warmer outside and walk around a bit more.I took quite a few pictures to document the trip which you can find on my Flickr. If you're more interested in what I wore to keep warm on this freezing trip then keep reading!

The day I went it was super cold (21 degrees!) so I bundled up as much as I could without adding the bulk of a winter coat. My J. Crew Factory vest kept me surprisingly warm as I layered my new favorite chambray shirt from Sweetest Stitch underneath it. My crazy warm scarf is also from Sweetest Stitch and was so different from all the other scarves I owned that I knew I had to get it. I'm so glad I opted to wear my Hunter boots because they kept my legs ridiculously warm in the freezing wind. My fleece-lined leggings also aided in keeping me from turning into a popsicle. No winter look would be complete without a beanie with a faux fur pom-pom. This cute, but functional hat is my new favorite accessory; I seriously wear this hat everywhere!
