This week's Save vs Splurge is all about puffer vests! They provide just the right amount of extra warmth when you don't want to wear a jacket or coat. I love layering them over flannels, sweatshirts and long sleeve tees when I can't be bothered to decide on outerwear. I'll be comparing two great options, one from J. Crew Factory and the other from Old Navy. Keep reading to see my top pick!
The specs:
Down-filled poly Quilted shell with lightweight fill
Hits at hip Hits below waist
Standing collar Mock turtleneck
Zip closure Front zipper from hem to chin
Patch pockets with hidden snap closure Slant pockets near hem

The verdict: My top favorite is from J. Crew Factory! They're not as expensive as the J. Crew version and they're much better in quality than the Old Navy version, which is cheaper. I already own 2 J. Crew Factory vests, but haven't pulled the trigger on purchasing a vest from Old Navy because I'm a little worried it won't be warm enough. My Factory vests are one of my fall staples and I wear one almost every time I go out. They're usually on sale and I managed to snag one in an ivory color (called Marine Salt on the site) for only $58!! I'm already planning the outfits in my head!
